Made a side-chain to duck the music bus with a notch in the mid frequencies when the VO bus is used.  It works to make the notch, but it never releases to put the frequencies back.  This will make the composer unhappy; and that's bad.  Sorry, it makes me unhappy too.

Rob, I have the same scenario running in one of my projects and it works fine. Double check your settings. .

Pretty sure you have the same setup, but just in case, here's what I have in my project:

  • Dialogue bus: Meter effect inserted
  • Music bus: Parametric EQ with Gain attached to Game Parameter (driven by the Meter effect).
You can start the profiler and look at the meter effect to make sure the Output game parameter value makes sense.
Maybe: Have you added interpolation in your game parameter (slew rate or filtering over time)?
Cheers,

Simon -

I seem to have the right set-up per your description.  No I've not added interpolation.  If I didn't have it set-up correctly, would it duck correctly at all?  It's ducking the gain on the parametric EQ perfectly; it's just not returning (releasing) to "0".

I should probably mention that I'm on Wwise v2015.1.5 (64-bit).  Also, Howard Mostrom came across this same thing a few months back, but he fixed his by switching bands on the Parametric EQ.  That's making no difference on mine; and hooking the RTPC to the output gain of the EQ has the same problem.
