When I try to open a project it says "Finalizing", "Loading Layouts...", and then eventually closes itself. Are there any solutions?

I too am getting the same issue after upgrading to Sierra.   I'm on wwise 2016.1.1 build 5823.
Did you get a response on this?  I'm having the same issue on 2015.1.5
The support team told me to try this out but it didn't work for me.

Load the project with Windows. Reset the layouts and save. Then try to open with Mac.

This ended up working for me.

1 - Delete all .akd files in your /Originals folder.
2 - You should then be able to open the project.
3 - Once the project is open, in the user preference (Shift-U), disable the option "background processing : Analyze wav files...".

This worked for me. Thanks much for the info. AKDs are the devil!
I'm running into this issue now as well, but deleting the .akd files didn't help. I can't think of why this only happens with one project and not others.  The only obvious thing that's different is the one that won't open is on a different drive (not C:), and it's managed by source control.

I'm trying to open the project on Windows 10 with version 2017.2.5

Update: I resolved this after realizing I had scratch checked out project files.  After reverting those, Wwise was able to open.
