I want to have random containers filled with different fills or melodic elements that can be triggered *on the beat* by the game. I thought the "triggers" function was meant for this, but triggers can only trigger Music Segments. I thought it was a brilliant idea to use a Playlist Container set to "Random Step" so that each time the trigger is set off it picks a fill/melody at random - but Wwise doesn't allow you to connect Playlist Containers to triggers.

This limitation is probably because Playlist Containers have the ability to play music indefinitely and that's not what Audiokinetic intended triggers to be for - but A) the collective mind of the customer base is greater than Audiokinetic's, so who are they to limit the functionality of their product based on something they *thought* the customer didn't want? And B) If the Playlist Container is set to "Random Step" or "Sequence Step" then it can't keep playing indefinitely anyway; can't the trigger be set to recognize that?

I want to have triggers be just virtual tombola drums with musical elements and have the game surprise me every time a trigger is set off! Remember I need to have it happen *on the beat*. Is this not possible in Wwise?

Music Tracks (within a segment) have a property for Track Type.  Set the Track to Random Step mode and you can put in various fills or stingers.  Then hook that trigger up to the segment with the random tracks and you can sync it to the beat.

Obviously this method is intended for stingers or one shots.  That said, it would be nice if a trigger could play a Playlist Container so you would have the additional functionality that comes with Playlists.
