Wwise-101 course Lesson 3: CrankcaseAudio REV - Plugin not installed (MAC)

Hi there,

I must first start by apologising as I am a complete Wwise newcomer, currently working through the Wwise 101 online course. I have just tried to load up the Lesson 3 project file, to be hit with an error message saying the CrankcaseAudio REV plugin is not installed. I followed the installation instructions for Mac users in lesson 1 of the course, so I'm not sure how this might have happened.

From digging round my Mac's files I think I have found where Wwise keeps it's plugins, and I can see that there is a file named: 'CrankcaseAudioREVModelPlayerFactory.h' at the following file path: ~user/Wwise/Wwise_v2014.1.1_build_5179/SDK/Include/AK/Plugin

Within the Lesson 3 folder itself there is also a file called 'Chevrolet_Camero_SS.model'

I'm not sure what might be missing as the files seem to be present, but then again I have no idea how Wwise handles it's plugins or how to install them.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi Luke, I just started these tutorials a little while back and saw that error msg too.  It sounds like the demo might have used an older version of some audio effect, or maybe the effect was renamed?  Do any wiser people have any ideas what this error msg means?

Hi Luke,

Thanks for reporting the issue ! We are aware that there is one Crankcase factory asset left in some Lessons project. This plugin is not supported on Mac, therefore it explains why you are getting this error. The good news is that it doesn't block you from following the courses. But this asset definitely going to be removed in 2015.1 update of the course, as there is no use of Crankcase in any lesson.
