Wwise Version: 2024.1.5.8803 Unity Version: [Your Unity Version]

Problem: When connecting the Wwise Authoring tool to a running Unity project, Wwise immediately enters a locked state, spamming the log with the error: WAMP CALL error 'ak.wwise.locked' invoking 'ak.wwise.core.object.get': 'Cannot execute call because Wwise has an exclusive lock. Please try again later.' The reason given is Waiting for user to close a modal dialog, even when no dialog is open.

This prevents any data, including Spatial Audio reflection data, from being sent from Unity to the Profiler.

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken (Problem Persists After All Steps):

  • Confirmed all Wwise and Unity component configurations for Spatial Audio are correct.

  • The issue occurs even in a brand new, minimal Unity project and a brand new, minimal Wwise project.

  • Performed a clean reboot of both applications.

  • Changed the WAMP communication port (from 8080 to 8090, 8095, etc.).

  • Deleted the Wwise project's .cache folder to force a rebuild.

  • Used the Audiokinetic Launcher to "Modify" and repair the Wwise integration in the Unity project.

  • Ran both the Unity Hub/Editor and the Audiokinetic Launcher/Wwise as an Administrator.

None of these steps have resolved the persistent ak.wwise.locked error.
