Are you able to connect using the localhost IP? You can try using the Connect to IP... button and then entering 127.0.0.1.
I ran into the same issue and the workaround I found is
1. Run Cube
2. Open Terminal
3. enter lsof -i | grep CubeMac
4. It will show something like
CubeMacPr xxx xxx ...... TCP *:53428 (LISTEN)
The number 53428 may vary from time to time.
5. Go to wwise --> Connect to Remote Platform --> Connect To IP, and put
      127.0.0.1:53428
