Control surface communication: bugs or design?

Hello!

Just started to learn Wwise and got two problems/questions:
1) When I connect a control surface(s) to Wwise, transport messages work but not fully.  If I press "Play" in Wwise - the "Play" button becomes orange and the program sends midi message to my control surface where the "Play" button lights up as well. If I press "Play" on my control surface - the program receives the message and starts to play but the "Play" button in transport panel stays white. The same thing with the "Stop" button.

2) All other buttons in transport panel work in one direction: when I press (let's say) "pin" in Wwise, the button becomes orange (indicating that it is active) but the program doesn't send midi message to my control surface and the button on control surface (that was assigned to "pin") doesn't light up.

Control surfaces I tried: SSL Matrix and Touch DAW android app.

Should Wwise behave like that or are these problems just bugs of the 2021.1.7.7796 version?
