Karen Collins is Canada Research Chair in Interactive Audio at the Games Institute, University of Waterloo. Karenā€˜s research covers all aspects of interactive audio, including experimental binaural soundtracks for film, generative game music, smartphone audio, VR and simulation audio. She also creates audio software for games, including Veemix, which is free on the Unity Asset store, and a patented method of displaying sound for hearing-impaired gamers. She is the director and writer of Beep: A Documentary History of Game Sound, a film, book and interactive documentary project covering the history of video game sound.
